Calibrating your Daylight

Ten minutes with your DC-1 makes every tool in the club's kitchen more accurate.

This page measures what your tablet reports about itself, and asks your eyes four questions no simulation can answer. Do it twice if you can: once in daylight (backlight off) and once at night (amber backlight on).

1 · What the browser reports

measuring…

These numbers set the geometry every preview tool uses.

2 · Count the bands

This bar has 16 steps from black to white. How many distinct bands can you actually see?

3 · The dark end

Each box is split in half, two different dark grays. For each letter: can you see the split line?

4 · Reading grays

[A] Text in #555 — secondary text uses this gray.

[B] Text in #767676 — passes contrast rules on a lit monitor.

[C] Text in #999 — the pack currently bans this for body text.

Which of A, B, C are comfortable to read?

Send it to the kitchen

  1. Tap the button — it copies the numbers plus a short fill-in form.
  2. Paste into a text or email to Anjan (or a GitHub issue on the club repo).
  3. Answers land in skills/daylight-facts.json, and every tool recalibrates.
